My gender is a knife. Something sharp. Something that cuts. Something meant to be wielded. Something meant to thrust. Something that gets interpreted many ways by different people and cultures. Often seen as negative, as a symbol of violence, but in truth: merely a tool. Something that's told it belongs in the kitchen as much as it belongs on a battlefield. It is something that's kept in a soft sheath against its will. It is something that others have left to rust.

this is beautiful

yeah i do really love this. super cool way to describe your gender. this is poetry.

I may fully be a binary man but in the same way as gomez addams is fully a man (gender subclass: husband (my love of my not yet wife and my general devotion to the women I love is a part of my sense of gender))

nothorses answered:

I think that being Just A Man And Nothing Else At All is also something that comes with variation and unique relationships to gender and all the spicy stuff that the patriarchy hates.

I’m a man, and I’m also like, horse guy/nerd/academic/artsy/faggy subclass, or whatever. And every cis man at this horse show I’m at right now (most of the attendees) fucking hates me for my tboy swag, even though I am Also a horse guy (I didn’t bring the cowboy hat or the big buckled belts bc I didn’t wanna wear felt hat and fucking jeans in 100 degrees. I’m just a bad person I think)

anyway point being that “binary man” just means “not nonbinary”, but nonbinary people aren’t the only ones who get to be funky little freaks about gender.

you are Gomez Adam Man Gender and that’s cool as hell dude you don’t need to qualify your unique relationship to manhood. everyone should have one of those.

Nonbinary people arent the only ones who get to be funky little freaks about gender

Yes!!! This! This so much!!

A selection of nice genders: cowboy (also a horse guy), cowgirl, those old ladies that only wear 1 colour they really love, devoted husband, devoted wife (okay this one is LOADED but it IS one so I'm including it OK?), horse guy (but the weird rich kind that like polo), Steve erwinesque (animal lover, science educstor), car guy, 1990s dolphin girl, goth woman/man, goddess, goddess^2 (gnc/trans goddess whose life and personality portrays the divinity inherent to transness), leather daddy, leather dyke, lesbian (so many subtypes), gay (so many subtypes), stereotypical slutty fem bisexual man (I love you), farmer joe, cult leader man (again, loaded), rennaissance man/woman, fairy but in a queer way, white guy named tyler/ben/taylor/mark with square glasses and shaggy brown hair who enjoys video games and computer science*, bulldyke (I love you)

*and the often sequel: trans fem who is super into computers who used to be one of those guys

there is, in fact, a "platonic explanation for this" if you're not a coward

thisvegetabledoesntfallinlove

its so fun to see the diversity of tags on this ranging from "they're literally just standing next to each other" to "deep bonds dont have to be romantic/sexual!" to "yeah friends can fuck nasty, platonically. coward." we're all so correct, there are, in fact, a million platonic explanations for this

Hello! Here are some fun facts about me!

I am…

  • quite pale
  • permanently tired-looking with shadowy circles under my eyes
  • naturally very protective of and reluctant to part with my blood (nurses HATE him)
  • sensitive to bright light
  • unfortunately rather hairless
  • liable to use unnecessarily formal/stilted language at the drop of a hat
  • fairly nocturnal
  • a hermit
  • currently obsessed with victorian aesthetics (for writing purposes, but still)
  • literally allergic to sunlight, I think???

and I have to say, it is horribly cruel of the universe to make me so vampire-coded when it is my god-given, transgender right to be a goddamn werewolf.

i have no idea if this will help with your situation, but erin reed has a map with all informed consent clinics- this may be completely unhelpful but i know these clinics make it easier to access hrt with less barriers.

queerpeers

so I made the original post as a joke, but then I saw this and found an informed consent provider in my area and I’m gonna make an appointment. genuinely thank you, this reblog could make my healthcare journey so much easier. hope this helps someone else too <3

geolyte

twitter doesn't let people who aren't logged in view tweets anymore at the time of me reblogging this so click here for a direct link to the map :)

got to pick out new frames for my glasses since I'm finally getting a new pair, and the ones I picked out look so nice??? the one (1) awkward and rather poor quality selfie I took wearing them makes me feel so good in the gender lol

ftm-radio

the bestie demanded selfies of the new glasses so I obliged and iT’S HAPPENINF AGAIN???!?!? I REALLY LIKE HOW I LOOK????!?!??!?! >:0

this is fucking magical ftm radio

I got my new glasses today (love them, they’re fantastic) and because of some totally normal new-prescription-weirdness, when I look down at things they look just sliiiightly smaller and further away so, at least until I adjust to it and don’t notice it anymore, I feel a little taller. and that’s nice, lmao. my gender appreciates it.

ftm radio i have officially surpassed my dad in the category of lens thickness lmao he looked at em in the car and was deadass like 'wow i feel better about my vision now' ajhsbdhsbdhhssj
